You might be a singer being ‘judged’ (isn’t everyone?) – or a rugby player competing in the World Cup.
Or you might be someone who is under the spotlight a work.
It doesn’t matter. The question is STILL the same.
Can you perform WELL under pressure?
And the answer is: Of course you can! You just need to know how….
So here are 3 cheeky little tips to set you off on the right track:
1. Tell yourself there’s no one better than you.
When you do this, you boost your own confidence and change your physiology at the same time.
That means you look, and act the part, and if you feel on top form, you give yourself every chance of blowing peoples’ socks off.
It worked for Mohammed Ali and it will work for you.
2. Turn your fear into excitement.
Fear is a mean old git – it will hold you back and paralyze your performance.
Instead, get excited about how good you are going to be, and about how much you are looking forward to this chance to shine.
Moments like this don’t come that often – so be a ‘rock star’ out there.
3. Prepare yourself ….by being prepared.
OK – here’s a dose of honesty. If you’re not prepared – you could fall flat on your face. Ouch!
That’s not a pretty sight, and doesn’t feel too good either.
So I’m talking hours of prep/practice/ and knowing your goddamm stuff.
To stand a chance, you have to be really good. So if you’re not there yet…..keep at it!
And finally (so this is an extra little tip )…have some FUN will you!
When you are enjoying what you do – you’ll increase your chances of doing it well (and get more support along the way).
Now, you’re not going to say ‘no’ to that are you?
Thought not.
