New year’s Resolutions Don’t Work

New Year’s Resolutions.

I would say that I don’t believe in them – but technically, that’s not true.

The Resolutions themselves are not the issue – it’s the person who makes, or breaks them that is the real ‘issue’.
And I’m sure that’s most people out there.

But once again, I’m not here to judge – I’m here to nudge.

You know, we see this post Christmas ‘resolution – making’ frenzy as a bit of fun, don’t we? It’s a new year and a fresh start.

And not for one minute do I think that setting goals and sticking to them is easy. We all struggle with them, that’s we are bombarded with new fitness regimes, diets and new job ideas. It’s just a question of time before we decide the existing one doesn’t work so we jump to another one.

But if we don’t stick to our goals/dreams , so what?

No one is holding us accountable (unless you have a coach), so we can cheat, pretend, have a bit of fun with them or just erm…GIVE UP.
So we do (generally).

Resolutions , New Year or otherwise, don’t work on their own. They rely on us to make them work.

Which is why at some point you should give yourself a break – if you really DON’T want to do something, then don’t. You’re not going to stick to it anyway.

Instead, focus on what you really WANT to do. Desire to achieve is a strong emotion – and if you want it bad enough, you’ll overcome the hurdles. It won’t be easy, but you know what? It will be worth it.

So my only question for you, is not what you want to achieve? – you can decide that, nor is it when do you want to achieve it by? – that’s your call too.

My question is WHEN will you get serious about YOU?

There are 7 days in a week. ‘Someday’ isn’t one of them.

Just saying.
