Mourinho or Pardew?

With the RIGHT leader….anything can happen

The truth is, that whether you are in football, music or business – having the right support can be the difference between success…or NOT.

And if you’re at the top – in a position of responsibility and leadership – EVERYTHING, my friend,  becomes visible.

That means you are (supposed to be ) leading by example.

Without getting into the detail of football: how about the difference between Jose Mourinho and Alan Pardew?

One manager sets a good example, drives the team , expects results and almost stands back – waiting for it to happen.

Check out this excerpt from Sky Sports, about Mr. Mourinho:

His aim is to convince us, and possibly his own players, that they are not the favourites, that they are the underdog, that they should play without pressure or expectation.

The truth is he’s kidding no-one.

You only had to see the smile on Terry’s face when we asked him the same question after they had seen off Spurs last week to know what the players really think.

Expect

Seven times a Mourinho team has been out in front 29 matches into a season…and seven times they have gone on to become champions.

This is Chelsea’s title to lose and they have no intention of doing that.

But from here on in every game is a cup final starting with the visit to Villa.

Set up as they are to play on the counter, some of their most convincing performances have come away from Stamford Bridge.

And they will expect to win, as they have done in their last four meetings with Villa, scoring 16 goals in the process.

...And the other manager?

Mr.Pardew is building up a track record of not leading by example.  Like ‘head butting’ a player.

Saying ‘sorry’  (yeah yeah, we’ve heard it all before) doesn’t always cut it in Leadership – acting in the right way –  does.

If you’re a senior manager in business, think about that – because there’s really nowhere to hide.

Great behaviour and attitude is VISIBLE, and, I’m afraid, MEMORABLE.

…and ,so is bad behaviour.

Better choose wisely then eh?

PS. For the record…I wish both teams well, and may the best behaviour win….
