I can’t tell you how many people I coach who want to stand out – or be in the Spotlight, locally, nationally or globally.
I’ve coached so many over the years.
And it’s wonderful when I see them reach their ambition.
But then, THAT’S the time when they need (my) help the most because life in the Spotlight is no walk in the park. All those eyes on you can be a glare you can’t escape from.
And sometimes, you will want to.
So how do you cope with that?
And how do you handle yourself when things don’t go well?
Or when you want to hide?
You can be surrounded by lots of people and yet still feel all alone.
There are different types of spotlight – you can be put on the spot in an interview, under pressure when making a speech, or dealing with a multitude of things when you’re manager of a team.
And of course, when you’re in a national or global spotlight as an artist, performer, sportsperson or personality.
Whichever it is, your performance is magnified, you become someone of (public) interest and, the pressure is on.
Life in the spotlight on the inside is very different to the image we see on the outside.
Anyway, what about you?
If you have burning ambition, and want to prepare yourself well, or you’re just interested in hearing more about how to shine in your own Spotlight – have a listen to me talking to host Kelly Crichton on the latest episode of The Reset Room Podcast right here:
Anyone can be in the Spotlight – deliberately or accidentally.
Be ready. Be prepared. Be at your best.
