This is something I bet most of us do at some time or other.
We worry.
Well, we don’t JUST worry, we worry ourselves into a frenzy because one worrying thought leads to another, doesn’t it? But you know what? Most of it is wasted energy – it drains the life out of us.
You know that, and I know that.
And yet we do it anyway !
Why?!
Sometimes we worry because we are fearful.
Sometimes we worry because we want to be prepared for the worst.
Sometimes we worry out of habit.
And yet worrying in itself never solves the problem we think we face.
So listen to your thoughts carefully and regularly and remind those pesky worrying ones that they are probably not going to get their time in the Spotlight.
In other words, it doesn’t matter how much they drive you bonkers inside of your head, the majority of those worrying thoughts are unlikely to play out fully in real life – that’s because they are based on assumptions, self doubt and (gotta say it) nonsense.
So be harsh, be selective and pick out 1 key worry – now think about how you can get around it.
There. Now you can put the rest of them in your ‘mental dustbin’ and get on with your day.
You are welcome,
Amana
