What are YOUR rules?

Rules are in place for a reason. Right?

They are (usually) there to protect, to support and to help. And that’s a good thing.

But sometimes they stifle , they become obstacles in the way of creativity and they hold us back.

You have to decide which is which.

Personally, I like rules.  I just have trouble sticking to them.

That’s not to say I’m a rebel for the sake of being a rebel, but I just believe that if rules aren’t constantly updated…or they don’t suit the situation (or don’t fit for the person I’m coaching) – then the rules are right out of the window.

Doing the right thing is more important to me than doing things right.

I can feel myself becoming unpopular already, and being in the ‘naughty’ club when it comes to coaching.

But I can live with that.

Rules are in place for a reason.  But if the reason isn’t good enough (assuming you aren’t hurting anyone, or doing anything illegal or immoral)…..then make your own rules.

There I’ve said it.

All round good coach, but sometimes a rule breaker. And proud of it.
