Why managing yourself, matters.

We’re more influential than we could ever realise, and that’s exactly what I talked about at a football club recently, and to a group of leaders today.

The truth is, it doesn’t matter who you are or what you do – this applies to all of us. I’m talking about managing yourself.

My message was this:

When you allow other people (or just stuff) to get to you, impact you or negatively affect your mood – it changes your behaviour.

And when you change your behaviour, it has an impact on – and gets to – the people around you. And then it comes back to you again.

Oh, I know, it’s not that easy to control what’s going on in your head (and heart) – but it’s a helluva lot easier than trying to control what’s going on in someone else’s.

You’re in charge of what you allow to stay in your head.

You’re in charge of you.
